don't really care if you do or don't trust them. i was offering you a suggestion in determining how trustworthy they are. actually i was offering others who may be reading advice also. why is everything so dramatic and have to be argued like it's a personal attack? people just offered you advice on them when you asked.

Sooooo... I should trust a store I've never heard of... on the word of a rating company I've never heard of? I hope you will understand if I don't trust EITHER of those for the same reasons.

I know you guys wanna gang up on danramos; but there's a point in there that's being overlooked.
The well-known establishments have yet to obtain the Nokia N9 whereas second, third and fourth tier merchants have it in stock. It's caught me off-guard because I've been trying to help folks get them in the Community Purchase thread (search for it, I can't be arsed to find it right now) and I can find brick and mortar shops that I've gone to for like accessories or skipped past them until they were a last resort in my travels in the past...
But Amazon? Buy.com? Frys? Not there yet. That's downright alarming. And yeah... not everybody has connections in different countries or are willing to toss major bucks to a relative unknown.
It's not a personal attack. I just think that folks need to think some things out. If it works for you, great.

Well, either way, I've thrown best part of $1000 at Negri today, so I'd better receive a black N9 64GB. Payment is via Google Checkout, so I'm not too nervous. Of course Canada Revenue & Customs and Fedex and everyone will take a bite out of me, but eff it: I'm done waiting.
Once I receive mine, I'll post back. At that point, maybe they'll have some stock of the pink one that danramos is clearly impatient to get
Finally: have you just bought the N9 and need to feel reassured that you made the right choice (i.e. shouldn't have waited for the Nokia World 'exciting' WP7 'surprise' announcements)?

Minor difference. But on Android, it was rather seamless - big "no duh" moment there, I know - but the experience was better there. On iOS - forget about it.
WP7 isn't as bad as folks around here say. It's a phone for consumers that want a smartphone that has really dumb controls. Android is a smartphone that can be as complex or simple as you decide - I'm a custom ROM tweaking chump, most are not.
But it's seriously not for the folks here. Harmattan is quite intelligent. In fact, I'd say it's rather sharp, brilliant even. But still not fully fleshed out. Not yet.
And that's a damn shame. And worse... WP7 will only benefit from the Nokia engineers and the N9 won't get its chance.
People will buy what they think fits their workflow. WP7 fit mine somewhat closely, but I felt limited. N9, I'm learning how it fits into my workflow.
And so far, it's fitting pretty damn nicely...

S gerbick, why has WP7 such a low penetration in the U.S.? Too many Microsoft haters? Do you think slapping a Nokia brand on it will make any difference?

I don't think I'm asking too much to tell me why a site I've never heard of.. validates another site I've never heard of. I'm sure many snake oil salesmen used similar real-world tactics to dismiss people who were skeptical of their medical effectiveness and claims.

WP7 is a weird, and a very hard sale that's not being sold anywhere in massive numbers. It's an oddball OS that people think looks childish at first. And it's too closely related to the failed Zune... which, while I loved mine, people shunned it for the simpler, more liable to break iPod.
And no... I think slapping a Nokia label on it will not bolster WP7 sales. In fact, in the US, Nokia has been relegated to those cheap flip phones that grandmas still like. Nokia's presence in North America is sorely lacking and spiraled into a depressing mess. I don't see Nokia needing WP7 as much as WP7 needs Nokia.
But that's my opinion. Take it with a grain of salt.
