Can it be assumed your pc is runningwindows? If so, scroll down to this bit...

When you get to a bit you don't understand - say 'xyz'
- do a web search for 'xyz'
- post "What does 'xyz' mean?
Your post will need to include some evidence that you're making an effort, even if you're confused and going round in circles.

Everything is working fine till the last step when i enter this
RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2.004_PR_COMBINED_004_ARM.bin
my command promopt does run this..but i do not understand it opens up in my desktop and runs in a VLC player..even though its named as .bin file i do not understand this issue..???
pls help..!!

You have to download the bin file into your maemo flasher directory on your computer.
Then from command prompt, go to the maemo flasher directory and run the flash command.
Then from command prompt, go to the maemo flasher directory and run the flash command.
