Just got the Nokia BH-501 headphone to use with the n810. Sound is relatively good (a little bassy for me) but got lots of crackle. Anyone had similar problems with this or other headphones?

What is working fine for you?

Antonio

I too am interested in finding a good set of BT headphones for the N810 and look forward to the responses you get. When you turned on the BT and went to add the headphones, did you need to input a code or did they see and connect to each other automatically?

Bluetooth heasets need pairing before they can be used with a device (usally 0000 or 00000).

As for which headset, I can only recommend the Plantronics Voyager 510. Comfortable, durable, inexpensive, with good battery life and good fidelity.

Thanks General,

I did the pairing with the right code. I'll check the Voyager for the incoming E51 (unless I find a way to make the BH-501 properly work, which I don't believe will happen). I liked the idea of having a stereo headphone.

Antonio: I thought you were after stereo headphones, not a phone head set(?).

WFT - For stereo BT headphones I recommend Kyocera's solution when they are on sale. I bought my first pair for $25 and got two more on a woot-off for $20@ for Christmas presents. Read the Amazon write up - note they do not use the micro USB used for the N810 for charging, but an even smaller USB connection. I get about 15 hours between charges, decent sound for listening, fair sound for talking.

I think they are discontinued, but for $20 they are worth it.

Yep. That's right, I prefer a stereo BT headphone. I hoped that the BH-501 would help and allow interrupting the music when a phone call comes in. However, according to the BH-501 manual, this feature is available only when the cell phone does not include a music player.

But if things do not work out I'll go back to a simpler, non BT, solution.

No - in the Amazon link someone posted it used a standard miniUSB, it does not, it's an even smaller USB, so there is 1 more adapter I carry.
