Couple of weeks back I removed the application that shows % battery bar, since then my cellphone battery started draining faster. It takes half time to drain the battery, Although I still have Auto Disconnect, Wireless Lan Disconnecter ( I always keep my Wifi disconnected when it is not in use). I mostly keep my GPS off so any particular reason the battery is getting drained? Is there some virus in my N900. I sometimes see notifications in Chinese language

Have you read this thread? There is also another thread which apparently the user had posted a screenshot of a program which shows Chinese banner but I cannot find the thread.

It is unlikely that you can get your N900 infected with a virus. Though if you have been using sudo, gainroot, etc lots of times and you happen to execute files which just doesn't work then you maybe infected. The likelihood is quite rare to be frank, ARM virus which is specifically targeting maemo considering maemo is not really that popular.

Also with battery draining, there could be numerous issues such as overclocking, running too many programs, etc

It's either "numberlocation" or another application starting with "bu..." that you installed and is responsible for the notifications.

Yes I remember. I installed number location. I don't run too many apps nor I overclock it. How can we invoke task manager to find out process that are running in background

there are numerous ways, but if you press power button once it should bring up the power menu. When you're in power menu there should be an option called `Top in XTerm' or something like that.

If you do not have that, then you can simply invoke top when you're inside command line (i.e. X Terminal).
