All,

Can someone please explain to me how Gorilla screens work. I have started noticing new scratches every single day on my delicious N9. They wipe off with a rub but reappear later. I keep the phone away from all metal and sharp objects. It even has its own pocket in my coat.

If I knew nothing about screen technology i would assume Gorilla is a step down from old school screens. It took a year for my N900 to have any visible scratches yet its not been a week and my N9 is starting to look like a chopping board.

the word vajazzle comes to mind and me saying "stop grinding my leg ***** your ruining my phone"

The non-scratchproof i8910 has but one tiny scratch probably from a fall after 2 years of use, so I thought the N9 would be just impossible to scratch, but now I am worried. Also I believe there is no oleophobic coating, it gets very easily dirty, and it hasn't got that "gliding" feel of the Galaxy S.

Hi all!, got my 64g N9 last week and would like to thank everyone for the abundance of useful info found here!

TBH, I'm not the most careful of users and already it got flicked onto the ground, not exactly my doing (gf) but I myself do manhandle it quite a bit - putting it in my jean pocket and what not.

Imo I dislike the rubber cover that came it with, feels really odd in my hands and ruins the whole "fits naturally" feel.

Scratches and dings don't really bug me that much although the shiny back plating where the camera sits tend to get scratched up the easiest and it shows up quite obvious.....

Caring for your tech is always good, but so is not stressing over something not worth stressing over. Nokia did say the N9 would age gracefully anyway with the full colour polycarbonate body and all.

I guess... just try not to drop it, hard and enjoy using it more.

That guy does not know how to handle a knife, lol

My carbon steel (TM) potato peeler eats Giralla Gloss for breakfast.

Without special effort I have already some scratches on rounded edge of the screen are easy to spot by eye and feel with fingernail.

This is exactly what i have done! Maybe there is a defect in some phones! It just doesnt look like a scratch as it buffs away! but maybe it was always there? anyone unboxing should smudge it up and check for us if they see any marks!

I still have not got round to going to a Nokia repair centre - tried on sunday but the one i know of is no more!! so will try O2 at the weekend and see what they say!

Can you submit photos for comparison?

I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a screen protector that actually covers the entire front glass area. How stupid are some of these cuts that only cover the screen. The whole point of our phone is to Swype near the outside of the screen area, I don't want to be feeling the edge of a screen.

I've gotten three off ebay, those at least had two tabs for easy application.

Protectionfilms24.com pulled the same crap, and I couldn't even use it because of the stupid design that made it difficult to apply the screen protector (tab is so easy to break off).

I've also received the Nvisible guard... but I didn't realize this is the water/soap application type. I've never had any luck with those types, too sticky/rubbery feeling or screen distortion.

I wonder how screen protectors would even lay flat on a 2.5D screen!
