I can't comment on anything regarding bq27x00_battery (since I don't use the module/KP), except for what I've already stated (kernel-bfs not differentiating from kernel-power). The following however appears to be false:

Maybe some application is modprobing the module?

Hadn't noticed this myself since I've got touch screen vibration feedback disabled. Thanks for reporting!

fcam-drivers-bfs does provide and replace fcam-drivers. The command "dpkg -l | grep fcam" will show both packages, but when you run "apt-get remove fcam-drivers" you'll see that fcam-drivers isn't installed . I've renamed the fcam-drivers-bfs package to just fcam-drivers to avoid any dependency issues. The first post has been updated to include this new fcam-drivers package.
I haven't contacted the fcam-drivers maintainer yet, I will do that tomorrow. I'll keep everyone updated on this one

Are you sure the reboot is kernel-bfs related? What were you doing when this happened (you didn't happen to be doing some very I/O intensive stuff, did you?)?

I've also recompiled lxp's bleeding-edge wl1251 wifi driver for kernel-bfs. Look for the link in the first post of this thread if you'd like to use them .

That happened when N900 was charging, maybe that was bq27x00 related. I use Advanced Power Monitor (and its dependencies), Qt Battery Widget (also uses same modules).
There's something strange about it, i can't repeat it, but unloading bq27x00_battery module will send phone to reboot.

Also noticed that somehow the DL speed is affected by current CPU clocking - when Opera in background, using FAM provides 100kb+ DL speed, FAM only - 100kb<. Maybe that's linked, i don't know.

Is the BFS scheduler thread-safe? Please check, maybe problems coming out from this. I sometimes saw my LED showing undefined colors for usual things.

tried to get compcache working on bfs. Any ideas how?

I was going to try

insmod /lib/modules/current/ramzswap.ko disksize_kb=65536
swapon /dev/ramzswap0
swapoff /dev/mmcblk0p3; swapon /dev/mmcblk0p3

The deive instantly rebooted on

insmod /lib/modules/current/ramzswap.ko disksize_kb=65536

That was a stupid idea. You have no memory for flushing the swap, so device had to reboot. You have to init compcache while you are booting. That was described in compcache thread, look through it.

Any news after the new kp49 build?
There is any plan of integrate the new patches into the bfs kernel?

If we're asking questions - any news on finding, why network is considerably slower in kernel-bfs? Unfortunately, it's "blocker" for me - gladly tested it as You know, but for everyday use I'm still on kp48.

As much as I'd love to merge the changes, I'm currently very busy with other things. I think I'll manage to find at least some time this weekend.

My apologies for not getting back on this one earlier. The bug is introduced by bfs.patch, which is the absolute worst patch for the bug to be in. I'm not sure whether I'm skilled enough to bisect the whole patch to find the root of the issue, unfortunately :-/.
I only have limited spare time this- and next week, so I'll dig deeper into the issue again after then.

Kernel-bfs (-bfs8) should hit the repositories in an hour or so. It contains all changes in kernel-power v49 since the last kernel-bfs release.

Note: if you're using a custom frequency profile, you must update it to reflect the new frequency scheme. Also see pali's note on this in the kernel-power thread.
Furthermore, SmartReflex is now enabled in the default frequency profile. Just a heads-up.

Thanks for bfs8! I've noticed a big performance boost for me, nearly no lags, no bugs. I'll post if find any.
