Servers are having a lot of trouble these days. I'd wait a day or two before installing any apps.

Move it here:

(which itself never should have been started as a new thread... but you can only fight so many fires at one time)

I actually wish it was your N800 in this instance, no offence!

LOL, right... sadly, I too cannot install anything more than a bunch of kb (becomeroot, mnotify, maemo mapper all went well, while canola and ukmp didn't )

it seems daft that nokia can't provide enough bandwidth to sort the problem out.

Well, not that they can't, but that they haven't. I'm not really sure what the most productive method will be to let management know that they need to pour some more cache into the maemo.org and associated servers, but I suspect a call to Nokia support may be the best method. They obviously don't want to hear about it in bugzilla (Either because they wont or can't do anything about it. My bet is on "can't".), and *****ing about it here is certainly not going to accomplish anything productive (besides irritating a fair number of non-Nokia members her ).

Although I guess this does not really help anyone, just dropped in to say that the problem still remains - at least on my N800. After installing the OS2008 today cannot install anything.

If anyone should know of any progress on this, I'd sure appreciate the info!

Wishing a nice X-mas + a Happy New Year to all at Internet Tablet Talk Forums,
Antti
