barbieri - its too bad that some folks have a hard time distinguishing the problem which is wholly Nokia's to resolve (OS/app repository accessibility) from anything else.

Canola2 looks great; despite my own early hopes for ogg support being in-the-box, I'm still very optimistic for your product. Getting the foundation right is what is most important, and from what it seems via feedback, you folks have already thunk-through many of the more interesting wants and desires many will have. Its too bad that the Nokia issues happened along at the same time as your first beta look-see; had that not been the case, there would be nowhere near the griping we see now.

Hopefully we'll see people grow some manners or at least start to differentiate whose problems are whose.

Ah you got them already. OK, this is looking more complete. Files are in the canola2 directory

http://www.buoy.com/~tps/canola2/
http://www2.buoy.com/~tps/canola2

Between the 2 instances, I should have plenty of connections, and 6MB of bandwidth...

Here's a suggestion for those of us who'd like to display album art with minimum of fuss, YEMV:

1. Organize your music in <artist>/<album> folders
2. Use a script to create two jpg files called cover.jpg and cover-small.jpg, 300x300 pixels and 150x150 pixels respectively, for each album and place them in the albums' folders.
3. Move the contents (if any) of ~/.canola/covers to the root of your main music folder.
4. Remove ~/.canola/covers and create a symbolic link to the root of your music folder from ~/.canola/covers (eg. ln -s /media/mmc2/Music ~/.canola/covers).
5. Restart Canola and enjoy your album art!

Since we dont have a complete set of files yet, no use trying to install yet...

Maybe someone else will chime in, but I would think that you would copy all these .deb files to /var/cache/apt/archives on your OS2008 device and then install. Since the files will already exist, it wont need to download them... Just my guess...but since I dont have a complete set of files, I'm not there yet.

Yes, that's exactly how it would work. And you can automate the process somewhat with 'wget -r -nd http://blog.chatonka.com/Canola' but it also keeps on recursing... not good. Any suggestions?
