The whole in-division fighting, first with S80 (Hildon, now it seems) and S60, which foreshadowed the bizarre marketing practices that would arise as nokia split between N division and E division, was probably the first sight of how badly managed the company was.
First, S80 Hildon was orphaned, much like the N900 was, more recently.

It was a breakthrough for the time to be able to skin the whole system, but it's really easy today to disguise a linux distro as, well, everything
.....
All of those are ubuntu

Samsung used Symbian+S60 on some phones. HTC was basically all winmob until Android. SE had a series of phones using Symbian+UIQ, and Motorola had a couple of the same before the almost folded and went all in with Android.
