I must be living right.
I started a C2 download at 9:00 yesterday morning (EST), had to restart it once but it was installed by 9:30. Ten minutes later I was playing Billy Talent or (note or, not and!) viewing photos straight from the SD card from my camera.
I showed it to some folks at my wife's company after I had demo'd the the tablet running their very intensive Javascript and Flash-based e-learning application. (This app never worked on a 770 with Opera or MicroB, or on OS2007 MicroB so OS2008 MicroB is a big improvement). The VP looked at the N800 ruefully and asked what he was going to do with his iPod. How much? $200 from Dell. What, really?
I think I could have sold a bag load of them right there and then.
Nokia/INdT needs to get Canola finished as soon as possible, solve the repo problem and start mass-
marketing this sucker. They are so close!
Anyway, my gut reactions to C2 were:
- Wow, then
- Can C2 be an alternate platform to Hildon? I want to be able to get at the main consumer-oriented stuff from this interface: web, email, voip...
- Cover art. I know it is just top show stuff but Apple has shown that top show is important to the mass market. At least show any pics I put in a music folder. When I am playing music then create a default slide-show of any pics in the same folder as the music playing.
- I want to be able to run a slide-show from my photos at the same time as playing my music.
- Equalizer please.
- Auto-leveling for sound please.
Don.

As for view pictures while listening to music, it's possible! Just click "back" from music player and it should keep playing in the background, you can also click 'n' hold "back" to "go home", this have the nice effect to bring you directly to "now playing" screen when you enter local music again! Ah, and notice that you will have a nice "Play" icon on the top-right, you can tap there from any screen to go straight to "now playing" screen.

Or, someone can make the complete repository, and create the tarball, and everyone else can just put it where it needs to go on their system. Like I said in a previous post, we, the user community, can easily create a repository ourselves. We just need access to the raw files, and someone has to create the initial repo. Then everyone just rsyncs/copies everything across to their systems. I can setup the roundrobin DNS if we pick a domain name. I have 3 separate 6Mb llines that I can throw at the problem (one is into Level3, the other are into the Verizon cloud for backup links).
