After an unsuccessful afternoon and early evening yesterday trying to get this installed, everything flowed perfectly today. Canola 2 is looking great so far!

Is it me or am I the ony newbie getting the message of "missing" packages. This great product is still so new to me I'd appreciate any imput. Messaage reads:

Application packages missing: libxdamage1, gstreamer0.10-plugins-ivorbis, libxdamage1

I'm sure its something easy thanks for any help

Is there an updated version of Canola2 than the one in the link shown in the quote? The version I have doesn't append files to the play... whenever I select a file it replaces the song that is paying.

There's no playlist feature in the beta. But on the final one it will also not work like you're saying. We have a different approach from the other players. but this is a needed feature (playlist creation) to supply those who wants to define the next music in the current queue.
