Certainly not in my country.
Same thing with recording telephone conversations, usually you hear a "beep" so you can ask WTF.

Well that's not in all countries so there should be some gconf value or something to disable/enable it. So you can decide yourself to break the law(in some countries) if needed.

Or common criminals committing any crime.
Plus, I don't see any red light in any of those thousand cameras I see everywhere, why should I let them notice when I pay them in kind?

Pali, with all due respect, I thin that it's time to screw aesthetic, and finally "fork" kp package, to get rid of "ancient" un-promoteable bug. Situation, where sane users (sticking to extras, if they don't feel comfortable with -testing and -devel) are punished by installing non-working version, which sits in *stable* and can - probably - bring device into state of "reflash needed", is absolutely out of the line.
I know rationale behind keeping with same package "line", and generally agree with it, but I think that - after so many months - rationale being "forking" kp package into another package instance family is *much* better.

I've posted it in the "overall" KP thread without answer, but, I think that it fit [development] section more, than "general troubles - KP make my battery 341 C hot". so, re-posting here:

Using kp49 and it's modules, I can't seem to find cdrom.ko, sr_mod.ko, and sg.ko, necessary to use optical disc readers/writers (cd, DVD's etc).
AFAIK, this problem should be fixed in kp48, so how come I'm unable to locate these modules in /lib/modules/2.6.28.10-power49? Is it some fault on my side, or kp49 glitch?
