I meant that u-boot is stored on mtd3, and kernel is stored on mtd4. No more patching of NOLO, but now you need to patch Flasher. This way, you can upgrade kernel without having to worry about wiping u-boot.
And with all the extra space, maybe recovery functions can be integrated?

You cannot patch flasher. Flashing is done in NOLO :-( so you need to patch NOLO for flashing...
