Try this:

Warning: it wipes all connection data (WiFi configs, passwords etc) and also your current 3G connection (which is restored after a reboot). Also wipes some settings like double-tap to activate screen, screen brightness etc.

I have another solution found for the "cannot connect to Twitter/Gmail/Facebook/whatever" problem which can be used without Dev-Mode. In my case it seems to be all about the proxy settings. After using my work WiFi (which needs proxy) switching back to mobile data connection (where naturally no proxy is configured) seems to forget sometimes to "unset" the proxy configuration.

I wonder if this is why everyone's getting this or if there's other root causes?
Either way excellent workaround for this particular issue, I will add it to the guide!
