Can I update to OS 2008 with an XP computer? How? Or can I update to OS 2008 with just the N800 unit itself and an internet connection?

You can update to os2008 using XP.
Go to this website and save the "Nokia Internet Tablet Software Update Wizard" to your computer. Run it and follow the instructions.
