Okay, so I know it's been asked before but is there any way to force all apps to start fullscreen?

If so, how would I go about implementing this? Can anyone point me in the right direction?

It's been talked about but nothing came of it.

I have a Command Button in ASUI.

Full Screen (name)

sleep 1;/usr/bin/wmctrl -r ":ACTIVE:" -b "toggle,fullscreen" (action)

and a check on (unmap ASUI)

The programs you would like to be in full screen, you could always check the help settings on them.

Example:

/usr/bin/roxterm --help

Based on what it states

/usr/bin/roxterm -f
would launch it full screen.

You then would need to edit the launch file in
/usr/share/applications/hildon/

Post back if you have any luck on this.

Well, I tried that and it didn't work.

It works by command line but not from changing
/usr/share/applications/hildon/

But thanks for the thought on this.

In Personal Menu I mapped an icon that does this

/usr/bin/wmctrl -r ":ACTIVE:" -b "toggle,fullscreen"

It's much faster to do this than through ASUI.

So I don't start another thread, how do you apply this patch?
https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3470

I don't see any stupid instructions on what to do with it.

There is already a deb with this patch. Just install it. Look in the CSSU thread, near the end.

Yes, by using launch scripts and wmctrl, it is doable for a few applications, but too much work for the whole system.

I just installed the Diablo5 theme, and that does away with the bar on the left side, so all apps basically use almost all the screen (with the statusbar still on screen).

Oh well.

Since I have you all here, I remember seeing somewhere that copies of all installed .debs are stored locally on the device but a search turns up nothing. Is this true? If so, where are they located?

Thanks in advance.

@shawnjefferson - I have Diablo5 as well and love it. I also run 90% or more of my apps in fullscreen and would love to skip that extra step in having to push the fullscreen key. But at least the N810 makes it easy.

Addison- A button in Personal Menu or ASUI wouldn't be very useful on the N810 . It would be nice if you could include those commands when launching an app through Personal Launcher or ASUI though.
