Hello

Is it possible to configure the N900 to not connect to a certain cell ID? I have found the cell ID using CellTowerInfo.

There is a femtocell that does not support data connections that I want to avoid, as when I connect to it I get disconnected from mobile data.

Thanks
Luke

Hey Luke, didn't really understand what you wanted to say
but if you turn off your N900 and restart without Pin-code, choose skip,
there's no connection once your device is started up.

Thanks for your reply. I mean that I want the N900 to operate completely normally connecting to all GSM towers except for one.

I.e. when I approach the building containing the annoying femtocell, I don't want the N900 to connect to it. Instead I want it to remain connected to the existing tower, as if the femtocell wasn't there.

The N900 lacks the SIM toolkit needed to change that. But most service shops should be able to put the correct settings in the SIM to avoid that tower if you know the tower ID.

More likely, there's something wrong with that tower, and they just don't know it. (Or can't isolate which tower it is.) If you contact the provider, and can give them the tower ID and let them know what the issue is (no data, 2G/3G/4G, etc), good chance they'll fix it within a few days.

Unfortunately the provider knows about it but it sounds like they have no intention of fixing the problem with their femtocells any time soon...

...however this answers my question perfectly, so thank you. I may investigate automatically enabling Wi-Fi when coming into range of this cell ID which might get around the problem.

Thanks for your help!
