Just downloaded the player and old long gone albums are still listed in it. Is this going to be fixed/is there any way to fix this? I cannot deny this bug spoils all the player experience. thanks.

SigmaPlayer retrieves songs info from tracker, which does not remove from its database deleted albums, that's why they keep getting shown in Album view. I have not found any solution to this bug yet.

That's a fair answer. That's too bad. At least there's equalizer.

Version 0.2.0 is just awesome!
Thanks! A huge update if you ask me!
This app became a real competitor for QuasarMX.

There is 1 thing that I dont like: the icons on the mainscreen :P
I hope someone can provide better pictures/icons for it...

Edit: I've encountered something worse... It lags, a lot.....
especially when you have Wazapp on, and you're using the Opera browser.... (equalizer is on)

I don't want to seem ungrateful or a pain in the ***, but I'm having a hard time with SigmaPlayer Pro 0.2.0, no offense. I also want only to submit some issues detected to you, nothing more.

First of all, my N9 (upgraded to PR1.3) have 64GB storage capacity and I have more than 40GB of music (6181 songs), all of it in VBR mp3 (lame) format. Have no trouble running my music files with the native media player. Here we go:

- I confirm HtheB lag issue. In fact I'm having this problem since forever with SP, no offense. But now apparently it became worse than ever, with a lot of "SigmaPlayer is not responding: close the application?" messages, or something like that (tranlated from brazilian portuguese).

Especially when I choose to open the (all) music library. Sometimes it opens normally, with a little lag. But most of the time I launch SP, hit the (all) music icon and need to wait a very long time until my media is displayed. Sometimes it doesn't show anything, no matter how long I wait. In that case I need to close SP, wait more than a few seconds and reopen it (issue with random occurrence). I have also this problem with the "Album" icon (frequently shows no album at all). It's very annoying and frustrating, I have to say.

Another problems detected:

- SP is unable to play some of my mp3 files, I cannot figure why. Like all of my mp3, they were encoded using VBR (about 240kbps) using dbPowerAmp v.14, with the art embedded into the files using Tag&Rename. I have followed your advise and checked again my files with Mp3tag, and no problem was detected.

The weird thing, i.e., is that I have enconded a double CD exactly the same way: SP plays normally the files from CD2, but not the ones from CD1 ("There was an error!" message everytime I try to open the folder). However, the native media player opens both CDs without problems.

- Incorrect media album art displayed in a lot of files - or not displaying any art at all - still, since my last post, a few months ago. Although you said that SP manages the album art the same way, the native media player shows the correct album art of my files, but not SP (in a lot of files SP displays the art of a different album).

- Some sound distortion at the beginning (first second) of all the music (no problem detected with the native player).

Is there anything I can do to fix these issues?

Thanks in advance

@ kyle2k

No problem at all, I'm here to improve it.

I have these cpu usage values from Energy Profiler:
0% cpu used when player is in stopped state;
15-16% usage when playing and no EQ enabled;
36-38% usage when playing and EQ is enabled;
The cpu used by Phonon player when EQ is enabled is out of my scope, so the lags when using it while surfing/chatting is because of it.

I have added new function to show artist and title on standbyscreen, it creates a temp picture to use as operator logo and it happens when song changes. It is created on a different thread than the player, so there should be no impact on playback, but you may try to disable it if you ear sound distortions at beginning of a song.

Previous version of SigmaPlayer was directly copying the songs list when picking All songs playback, but to implement shuffled playlist I have to create a linear playlist and a shuffled one. It needs to copy file path, track duration, artist and title for each track, so for 6000+ tracks it may take long time. I don't know how the stock player can create a huge playback playlist without you noticing any lag at all.

I need you to send me a sample of these mp3 files not played in Sigma, also a sample of a track which does not show the correct album art. In this way I can check better which is the problem.

Album arts are processed by OS and put in /home/user/.cache/media-art folder. Their file names are compounded by the artist name hash and the album name hash. SigmaPlayer processes artist and album names, create the album art file name and check if there is the corrispondent file in that folder. If you have swapped album arts it may be because tracker has gone mad (it's the system process which indexes files). To check it better, please tell me an album art name of that folder which does not show the corrisponding album art, with the artist and album names aswell.

Albums page takes a bit of time first time is opened because after months Nokia has done nothing to solve the "phantom albums" bug: removed albums (when all songs belonging to an album are removed from device) keep being shown in DocumentGallery model, so I had chosen in the end to create my own albums model. When you open albums page the model is being created, and in case you have many albums it takes time.

I will fix the "SigmaPlayer is not responding" messages, a "Playlist loading pls wait" message will be shown instead, but still it will requires time for 6000+ tracks.
