There are no real limits for SDHC at any point in the near future (2048GB is the actual limit).

Get back to me when SDHC cards still haven't gone the way of SmartMedia and getting up around 1TB.

BTW, OS2008 on N800 happily copes with non-HC 4GB SD cards, which is great, seeing as how I have a bunch of them which I also use with my Zaurus.

All equipment rated for SDHC cards will work fine with standard SD stuff.

Except that non-SDHC 4GB cards are hardly standard SD stuff, are they?

bzzzt! wrong!

4GB sd non-hc cards were an anomaly - 2GB was the official maximum card size - and quite a lot of stuff DOESN'T work with a 4GB card. Oddly, my wife's ixus 750 does cope, my powershot 710IS doesn't, the former doesn't do SDHC, the latter does.

Some (most older?) pre-HC USB card readers can do 4GB, some can't.

Hi, First post.

My Apple computer can only see the the HC cards and write to them via the USB link to the N800. My old transflash USB card reader is useless for reading microSDHC, and my Palm LifeDrive can't see the 8GB SDHC card or the 4GB microSDHC card.

I'm using an 8GB SDHC for internal memory, and a 4GBtransflash SDHC with adapter for removable memory in my new N800 (So cool).
