You're inside your bunker, no bars, and you wanna call a pizza, you reach the pizza entry in your address book, put your N900 to the mouthpiece of the old rotary landline phone on the wall and 30 minutes or less later you're eating pizza ¬.¬

I can now call numbers on a landline without having to dial/read them out. Great! Thank you.

I have found one slight problem tho.
DTMF number 1 doesn't seem to work, resulting in any number containing a "1" failing.

It would also be nice if you could pause and wait using "p" or "," and "w".
Example inserting a "p" or "," would pause for one DTMF character and "w" would wait for 5 seconds.

A waiting feature is already implemented: Any character that is neither a digit nor *, # will introduce a pause of one character. A longer pause can be achieved by adding a couple of short ones.

Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce the problem with the "1". Perhaps you can try to adjust your volume. If it is too high, the tone may be clipped resulting in recognition errors.

Thank for the suggestion.
Just tried it at a range of volumes and the number 1 is still not recognized.
To test it a while ago I made a QBW button using
Code:
run-standalone.sh /usr/bin/dtmf 1
All the keys are recognized apart from 1.

Any other ideas?

Just un-installed and re-installed and now numbers 1,2 or 3 are not recognized, all other keys work fine!

Well, the only thought that comes to my mind is that 1, 2, and 3 use the lowest frequency of 697 Hz. It might be that due to the small speakers this frequency is played back at a significantly lower volume (This difference must be quite big, because DTMF decoders should be robust against this).

In order to fix this I would have to implement frequency dependent amplitudes.

Anyone with a good measurement set-up to check if this is the reason for this problem? I would need some numbers on what the amplitudes should be ...
