Where is the database with subscribed feeds located? I can't find it, neither in home-dir, nor in GConf. Perhaps that might shed some light.

Just executing
in the terminal should also work and is a bit easier. The sync must be underway for the process to exist.Code:killall rssatom

Are you still experiencing this bug after the PR 1.2 update? To me it seems to be fixed. I haven't had it since I updated.
Also this bugzilla shows that people are not affected with the problem anymore.

I had it before, more or less randomly.
Since PR 1.2, it never stops. There's always something it tries to download. Reboots dont help.
