Uh, there's no cellular radio in the internet tablets. It's just Wifi/Bluetooth, so no SIM card.

My dear friend,

N810 is everything but phone.
Unfortunately many websites try to foul new buyers, naming N810 a phone. All you can do and claim is money-payback option.

N810 is named by Nokia N-Series product making some confusing,
as N-Series was earlier made of S60 cell phones.
___________
At some places N810 is described as a phone.

you know what i planned to get HSPDA modem to connect it to da N810 and luckly the sim card will go inside da modem like in da picture here, this HSDPA modem called huawei E220

i got da idea from here

unfortunately i found dat huawei E220 modem will not work with da N810 coz it requres a minimum reslution of 800x600 ! the N810 has max 800x450
Only one minor irritation, the software embedded in the device requires a minimum resolution of 800 x 600 to run. I am working on this, but if anyone has an idea, please share it. While this is not the end of the world, it is not ideal.

so i decided to use either da BandLuxe C100 HSDPA Modem or da C120

i already mentioned dis in an earlier thread:http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ad.php?t=12050

i dono if what am doing is right or worng

Hmmm a "minor" sticking point is that the N810 runs Linux, not Windows, and most devices of this kind don't have Linux drivers. Plus, N810 host-mode capabilities are, as far as I can tell, as yet officially unsupported (can anyone confirm this please?).

The Huawei HSDPA modem won't work with the N810. This is because (1) the N810's USB port is not the same as on a computer (host-mode) by default and (2) the Huawei attempts to install Windows drivers when plugged in. The N810 does not run Windows.

There are several other HSDPA modems or routers available which work with WLAN. Those work perfectly with the internet tablets.

A device does not force drivers onto the host
The The Huawei HSDPA is fully Linux compatible it runs the standard USB-serial modem module to run you need to set-up a PPP connection to dial the modem i think the string was *99#.

That all said i am looking at getting a n810 for the same reason using my USB modem does the n810 have the USB-serial module and also does it have the ability to setup PPP connections?

The alternative is to get a mobile with HDSPA and Bluetooth, and use that to connect the N810 to 3G.
