Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with the Mplayer thats part of the ""maemo Extras" download?

The audio is about a 1/4 to a 1/2 a second behind the video when playing DivX files. It doesn't eventually get to this point, it starts off this way and maintains it.

Now the Mplayer that I had on the OS2007 worked great and everything was in sync. I scaled down the video a bit to make them work flawlessly.

I am now using these exact files on the OS2008 version of Mplayer and have the audio sync problem.

I see in the Mplayer settings that there is an "Audio delay" feature. It's set at 0ms and it doesn't seem that you can changes this number.

Does anyone know of a way to fix this or do I have to wait for the next version of Mplayer to be released.

Thanks for your help.

is it me or do the MP4 files produced by Nokia's video converter not really play at all with Mplayer??? (as well as the apps which use Mplayer like Canola 2 and others)

Thanx!

Ya I know what you mean. Actually I tried using Nokia's converter for some video I took with my digital camera, and it didn't work either.

Actually for my DivX movies I used Pocket DivX encoder. I had a Dell Axim X5 that I used to watch DIVX movies on and this software worked great!

I used it to encode the movies while using the OS2007. You can change the resolution and such to make it work.

Don't use Nokia's video converter.

You're welcome.

Does Canola use mplayer as a basis for playing movies or have I read that wrong?

The only thing I could get Canola to play was the N810 video.

I believe that Canola will use either the builtin Media Player or mPlayer. I do remember reading (somewhere around here) that the builtin player has been a bit buggy with Canola though. FWIW, I've got mPlayer installed and Canola plays my videos just fine

I use this one since it works well for me:

Although there were lip synch problems with my last movie. "DAS BOOT"

(NOTE: Originally filmed in German for those that didn't know.)

Am I the only person unable to get mplayer installed on the official os2008 release? I can't get the required libmad0 (libmad0_0.151b-2.1) to install (Incompatible application package).

Thanks,

That media converter worked great and solved the audio delay issue.
Thanks again!
