The hardware keys in the current X Terminal aren't particularly useful, and - as you've noticed - pasting can be a pain.
The best way I've found is to use the application's soft menu (off the title bar), however obviously you can't be in full-screen mode.
I have a problem when using Vim and trying to paste text from a webpage. When trying the softmenu to the left of the on-screen keyboard, it doesnt paste anything, but when pressing the hardware menu button and releasing it <F4> gets inserted and cannot be deleted with the backspace key on the keyboard!
Sometimes (like now) it can be deleted, but then a "i" gets stuck, as I was fooling around.
It is not a screen refresh issue since it gets saved and recalled when opening the file again. Very strange and annoying.
Any tips on how to get around that?
