anyway. I have to solve my ALPHANUMERIC keyboard problem with symbols in PR1.2 as it is not working properly. then I'll try arrows into KB. if not, I'll provide all files of toolbars with arrows.

I think small is a free styling parameter, as it should not be used in any official layout. So you can use it for width and row height in the CSS, after adding it to the layout file(s).

Is it possible to modify keyboard labels so that they would look like the swype keyboard(longpress character shown there also)? Also is it possible to remove normalpress character from longpress options(because when you are longpressing left side keys you have to move finger to select longpress character) ?

I'm asking these as I'd like to make keyboard with numbers and mostly used special characters behind longpress on main view of keyboard and big arrows on the first page of symbols.


Is there way to make specific keyboard default for specific application? Pre-installed keyboards seem to alter a bit depending on application(there is "/" instead of "," in browser and "@" when typing email address)..

no SWYPE feature in this kind of keyboard. you need to install swype on your own and use its own KB.

you can edit longpress characters, so yes, it's possibe to remove it - already removed in my version of KB.

symbols can be also added ofcourse to longpress menu. arrows can be added to symbols as well - but, better not to include SYMBOLS.XML but inclue symbols0 and symbols1 sections into KB itself (like I did already).

no specific app can be set to use specific KB. as it is still the same, just some signs are changed according pre-set in phone to make it easier.

I tuned a base Finnish keyboard a bit and added arrow keys on symbols layer, as they do not fit without adding columns on the first layer. Contains also {}-characters behind the shift on symbol layer.

Note that you can paint text with the shift key, so it was essential to get that in too.
Maybe I will replace the places of 1/2-key and shift later for uniform look throughout the layers.
