I have an N900 with a no longer functioning GSM module. No amount of flashing I did was able to fix it, if that is the case with yours, you will likely get an error while the flasher is flashing the CMT, I also get that error message shown in your screenshot once during boot, and a second time when it has finished booting, also the built-in GPS no longer works and I believe it stopped working the same time the GSM module did.

gps is not working eather. i did get the cmt flash error before i send it to service and they reflashed it, and now the cmt error during the flash is gone i can flash the hole firmware.
so you say that i cant fix it ?

it is a hardware problem and flashing wont fix it. it is a common problem. put some paper between SIM and the battery to keep the SIM under pressure then flash it. but i have to say this is a temporary solution.

I wonder how they got rid of the CMT error.

Anyway, I haven't been able to do anything to get mine working again, and I haven't seen anyone say they have been able to fix this, so I doubt you will be able to, but if you do, I'd certainly be interested in how.

And I don't see how putting a SIM in under pressure will help during flashing, the presence of a SIM shouldn't make any difference while flashing.

you're right, you can flash the device without the SIM but the CMT error is related to GSM module and putting something between SIM and battery is to keep the GSM module under pressure.
