I was just reading that nokia will be releasing new ITs soon.

I was going to get an N810 of dell.com for 420-25coupon-$150 giftcard =$245, but i thought, maybe i should wait. The only thing i dont like about the N810 is no Dual SD slots like the N800, and lack of FM radio, and it costs twice as much. I love GPS,Keyboard and other stuffs about the N810.

Do you guys think there will be a new model with regular SD slots, and or other features? and how soon?

Big dilema!

also is using minisd cards that big of a deal? my Pentax K100D uses SD, and other devices of mine, so it would be nice to use SD cards all around.

thanks guys.

First post FTW!

ps coupon expires in 30 days, its only 25 bux, but every bit counts, damn sottish blood...

I don't think there will be a new model for at least six months.. You should plunge.

think maybe i should stick with the N800 and wait till the big guns arrive, or just go for the N810? hard choices. At least i have narrowed it down from the archos players

Same here, can't really decide whether to get N810 now or wait the next It. N800 is an option too but not being able to read in daylight and no-hwkb kinda suck, still SDHC is a big plus though. Well I recommend to wait and see what CES has to offer (N810i ?!?!?) this year and make your decision after that.

choice is easy get a n800. they are vey cheap.

Nokia's in built GPS is not very good. Get a seperate BT GPS unit. You will get better results as it can have direct access to the sky rather than a a device under the roof of the car.

For the built in keyboard, is it really a must? How often would you use it. It will be quite fiddley to use. If you need one then get a BT one.

n800 has dual memory slots.

That was my thinking when i was deciding which one to get.

Result, my n800 has os800 and i love it

Wait till after CES and Macworld. You may see better options. Apple may have a new device and CES may have some interesting MID's

The 800 is cheaper but cheaper is not better. I can't bring myself to go with a larger cheap plastic humpback body and a ridiculous popout clit camera that doesn't work. The 810 GPS works OK and if you want better you can still get an externally mounted car bluetooth gps module and just connect to that in your car.

Pocketability is cool but so far I'm thinking of just getting a good 12 or 13 inch laptop for portability now and waiting for the next generation of pocketables in the Fall.

IMO with current prices, no doubt the real deal is the N800.
The N810 has its own flaws regarding the design (light sensor position, dpad position) the camera is the same sxxt than the N800's, the gps isn't great and for serious typing you also should use a bt keyboard ...ah, and costs almost 2 X!
I have thinked in upgrade, but really no reason to do that. I'm going to keep my beloved N800 until real hardware upgrade occurs.

As a few others have said, wait for a short time after CES which is coming up in a few days, its possible that N810 prices will fall afterwards, or you might see something you want there instead.
