im waiting as well. id like to get a eee with the rumored 8.9 inch screen, and the next tablet from nokia with stronger processor. however, if apple shows a small tablet, id probably get that(if its less than 600).

to top it off, i just cancelled my order with Dell...backordered until March...i won't go into the dumb details of my phone conversation with them but after ordering on 12/6 and being delayed 3 times, then being told to cancel and reorder was frustrating enough on it's own...then when i went to reorder the sales rep informed me that the item is backordered until March at the earliest and that previosu orders would continue to receive an email pushing the shipping date out a week to 2 weeks at a time to retain the orders. it was refreshing to hear some honesty but talk about disappointment.

- guess i'm an OF, as IMHO, the n800 is destined to be a 'classic,' similar to the IBM Z50 mini-notebook (not the PDA), which runs NetBSD, + X11, has a AA-battery pack, sports PCMCIA and CF, along with 16-bpp 640x480...

- i'm getting ready to receive my 2nd n800, which will be maintained in an upgrade status and stashed as a backup...

- to me, the n800 is the tablet i've been waiting for: book reader, web browser, camera, RSS, email, games, dict reader, and on and on...

- as long as 802.11b/g is supported, these devices will be fine for connectivity...

(and i'm still using my IBM Z50 w/a CF serial I/O adapter to run a high-frequency communications receiver via WiFi)...

- on the other hand, does anyone want my NIB 3COM touchscreen Audrey?

:-)

hummm nokia seems to be OOS on the N800 and the N810 now, call me jumping to conclusions, but that seems a bit suspicious. I like suspicious...
