Okay, i just removed qmltoshl-nokia.desktop, but it removed the TOSHL icons at the homescreen. (2 of them)

Now, it is still showing that it is installed, but I don't know how to use it without an icon at the homescreen.

Okay, so since the Toshl app is still there but no Icons are in sight, I can't use the app.

Also the 2nd application is, CALENDAR. It's a built in application.

I tried this:

mv /usr/share/applications/calendar.desktop /usr/share/applications/.calendar.desktop

Ad the "." in front of the .desktop entry and the icon in the launcher will be hidden.

to restore, simply type it in reverse:

mv /usr/share/applications/.calendar.desktop /usr/share/applications/calendar.desktop
It worked, but it removed 2 of the icons, wherein I just want to remove one.

Go to terminal as ROOT:
devel-su
rootme

1. Restore your calendar icon:
mv /usr/share/applications/.calendar.desktop /usr/share/applications/calendar.desktop

2. restore your second app by reinstalling (this not delete your info)

3. Go to terminal as ROOT again:
devel-su
rootme
rm -f /home/user/.config/meegotouchhome-nokia/laun*
/sbin/reboot

this will reboot your phone and should to resolve your problem with duplicated icons.. But this action will disorganize all your icons on the homescreen..

/sbin/reboot

and is that line correct?

Why all this rebooting? You can just restart the process that loads them. (though I didn't find it necessary when removing icons).

$ killall meegotouchhome
Also rather than removing .desktop files you might try to edit those files and remove possible duplicate entries. If you want to disable icon for some app you can add line...

Code:
NotShowIn=X-MeeGo;
into the .desktop file.

User specific .desktop files reside in ~/.local/share/applications so you might want to check that out too.

You are a genius dude ... My N9 was showing duplicated icons after flashing and this fixed everithing ...
