on my 2008 N800, the weather screen will NOT go transparent.

Sounds like you might have installed the old Bora version?

dl'ed the new version. Worked fine. App Man showed updated which I installed and problem re-occurred. Lost tranparency.

Very strange. Please install from site https://garage.maemo.org/frs/?group_id=93
and reboot device after updating of the program.

Thank you for your help. I AM using v0.19.4, which I reloaded and works fine. Thats what it says in "about". The App Manager shows the SAME version as available as an update, but if I dl it as an Update, then I loose the transparency. Glad to help in any way if you have questions.

Please show me your /etc/apt/sources.list.d/hildon-application-manager.list

Write in xterm
cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/hildon-application-manager.list
for it.

something weird omweather seems to do on mine is in early morning it doesnt display what the current day is right , like it skips ahead a day in the early morning

Application Manager shows OMWeather version 0.19.4 however in applet's About windows it is still 0.19.3.
Also when I got an error when trying to install from http://maemo.org/downloads/OS2008 - some incompatibility problems. If I install from AppMAn, it's OK.
