About your link. There's a difference between misspelling and deliberately using unreadable language such as some people does (sms kind of writing e.g. U=You Dat=that and so on). Also people who doesn't explain their problem in more than a few words that could mean anything falls under your link, but occasionally misspelling does not and in that light danramos statement does not affect me but rather the ones you speak of in your link and here I would agree with danramos that it will undermine and detach you from your statement.

Regards Dousan...
heh.. ok, THAT (the u=you, dat-that, r=are, etc.) is truly obnoxious behavior and it prevents people from genuinely communicating clearly and it also cripples peoples' habits of writing clearly too. I mean that I've seen people actually write reports and notes in SCHOOL to their teachers in that manner. That is pretty pathetic and I'm with you on that one.

Anyway, genuine misspelling isn't that big a deal. It's annoying sometimes--but I don't usually reply back to a misspelling. In your case, it was to make a point about vi's comments. Parody is a form of expression and you'll notice that it was almost verbatim what you wrote.

On the whole, I really miss the days when TMO was far more joviol and people were willing to joke more about things they didn't always agree on. I can still remember MANY grave arguments, frustrated spats and serious disagreements that just needed someone to come along and joke about it to remind everybody that we're just talking about things here as a community and that there's no reason to take things so seriously.

Don't be an Elop!

These aren't life-or-death arguments we're having here, folks. Smile, sit back and feel free to take a few insults in good fun.. you know you'll have plenty of good opportunity to make fun of someone else. I've made plenty of fun of people and then I've had plenty of people make fun of me over the years. It's all good. I don't even KNOW you f***ers. heheh

THAT, by the by, would go a LONG way toward tolerance. (There we go... made the post relevant! WHOO!)

Here... have a laugh:

Here's some free advice for you: If you intend to reply to someone's post, get yourself into the habit of reading the whole post you're replying to before you make yourself look like a douchebag. ...or... could it be? Elop? Is that you?

You already stated it, I know. But thanks to my identity crisis I kept looking in the mirror, hence the redundancy.

But at least your post explains why I saw this when I left my front door, this morning.

You have no idea. I miss the earlier days where there were far more of these rants of mine. They were sometimes epic. I'm surprised nobody's made me one of those fancy shmancy lolcat-like pictures with a funny caption around the image joking about it. Now that I've mentioned it, I'll bet there will be one now!

In the meantime... I think this is still my all-time favorite reply to one of my posts EVER...

To really get the joke, you need to follow back to my post, the one he made fun of:

@danramos this is not about jovial behavior this is about you making a problem out of me not spelling english and use the grammar to an A+.

You do understand me and what I mean that shows in your replies, you're just nitpicking and seems to enjoy it.

That's just you being intolerant.

If you really just would've pointed out my spelling you would've done it a nice way, but this is not the case you like to provoke and therefor you come of as demeaning and offensive.

The problem is, what you find jovial I might not find jovial nor funny and will come of as offensive and seeing your posts you like to provoke and create tension.

Do try to rembember that non english people could've problems with distinguish between o/oo, ee/ea se/ce and so forth and when to use what.

You using Elop is just a 'legit' way to call people stupid, hence sarcasm, hence demeaning.

Though I really did laugh when seeing the vid of the clumsy robber. That i think is good humor. Nemesis

Nemesis? How dare you use that most vulgar, insulting word to describe me? Now I'm offended! Now you're just being a jerk! And you thought I wasn't being very nice? I was a complete gentleman and rightfully pointed out your errors! Are you the type of person that feels so insulted when someone points out your mistake that you would rampage and use words like 'nemesis?" You're the intolerant one! I feel 'nemesis' is a word too far over the line. HOW DARE YOU, SIR! I shall report this to the proper authorities! (Who was it that abill_uk reported the mis-use of the honorific, "Sir?"... ooop! Maybe not, after my last sentence!)

I don't know how many of you watch Southpark,
this this is an ENORMOUS insult, right there!

In all seriousness, though: Take it easy. There is no need to call for censorship just because you not might think the same things are funny or because you don't like how someone expresses it. To be serious: that IS actually intolerance. Be careful not to trip over your own criticism--it's supposed to be an expression of your thoughts, not a trap for you to wander right into yourself. Just saying. Also, it makes you look very thin-skinned and oversensitive. You wouldn't want that, would you?

Yeah I got your point danramos it goes both way, tolerance I mean.

Good point about me not getting trapped, I'll keep that in mind.

Don't mind looking thin skinned or over sensitive though, that's not up to me to decide how people look at me.

Well your post made me laugh and made me have an objective look at this situation and so did anthonie's posts.

I'm just very alert on setting my boundaries and letting people know when they cross them and you did.

Dousan,

in case you haven't noticed yet, once Dan got started, he won't stop
not unless he has the last post
nearly as bad as a troll ¦-)))))

just let it be
if you feel you can add something (constructive?), come back in a couple hrs (days?) when the platform has stopped burning and poor some icing on it

this being said, adding a "signature" like
"posted from my N900" (or whatever it is you use now...) could help oversee the one or other typo...
and if you post from your computer, their really is no excuse anymore for typos...
or is there?

@misterc, haven't really read much from him in my time here, but a few have mentioned him and mostly in the manner you do.

I'm using my N9 and it's a b***h to edit your post in the native browser, especially when they get long. Really a downside to the N9.

Regards Dousan...

e: anyway thanks for the info...
