I've been using my EEE PC a lot lately, and my brother in law is stationed overseas in the military. When his sub comes in to various ports, such as Okinawa, they've had wifi available. I thought he could use it a lot more than I can. I've got 4 laptops (3 pc and one macbook), the EEE PC, a desktop and a motorola Q.
I tried to configure as much as possible so he will be able to power it on and use it pretty quickly. I created a skype account so I will see him appear as soon as he manages to get online. I threw a ton of MP3s and some videos of his kids on it. Space is limited on a sub -- to say the least.
I felt a bit of regret mailing it out. (However, it gives me the incentive to get an N810 in the future). In the meantime, I'm having a blast with the EEE PC and I'm really excited about all of the devices that run one form of Linux or another.
For those who upgrade to the N800 from the N770 or to the N810 from the N800, there is still a lot of value and life left in these machines.
