about new apps / missing apps...
it only lists N9 apps (& some Symbian)
i only have N900 (two, as a matter of fact), so how am i supposed to test a new app i may be able to dev in a sandbox env.?
to explicit my question
are N900 apps still welcome?

Does anyone have any objections to my line of reasoning for using public repositories (Ovi store/AppsForMeego/maemo.org) as the hosting place for entries? And if not can we enshrine that into the regulations?

I would exclude Ovi Store from this, as Communtiy doesn't have any control over this repo - it can be closed any day, without warning.
Community repos, on the other hand, are well backuped.

I don't think we need to be worried about that. maemo.org would be shut down long before the ovi store, after all they make money out of the latter!
Edit:
I've added a table for application proposals, feel free to add to it.

Now, as maemo.org/intro will tell you:
We're quite liberal in how we facilitate the competition, taking a view to get as many applications as we can in and trusting the community to decide how they rank the entrants. I'm very happy to let our community of users decide which applications they feel are most valuable, with pretty much whatever criteria they choose to apply. It's a coding competition, but let's not kid ourselves that everyone is going to delve into the code of each application. If you want me to explicitly state a restriction to open source in the rules I can do that. Although being mindful it could potentially put off closed source developers from taking an interest, I'm not convinced there's many out there interested in Maemo/MeeGo Harmattan platforms to ruffle any feathers
