Yes. Yes it does.

I was having issues using it to backup my phone (like I'm not just gonna do it manually anyway)

But Nokia Suite actually did it right. After it took 10 minutes to load correctly (the phone info took forever to update)

Who cares about Mac support, where's the Linux port?

I think backing up text messages, contacts, from the N900 and importing them into the N9 would be the biggest use I'd get out of the Nokia Suite.

Fortunately, everything else can be managed easily with using it as a mass storage device, which I believe you can't do with Windows Phone 7.x. Did Microsoft say they were fixing that in WP8?

Who the crap wants to HAVE to install Zune just to copy some music / pictures / video over?

^ I care about no OSX support...
Oh well, I guess if they also had to focus on NS for OSX, the end result would be a crappy NS for both platforms, as the team's so tiny now.
Will have to fire up a VM for Win 7 soon methinks.

Loving it, it's now much easier to connect internet to my PC using my phone, other missing features don't really bother me, SMSs work etc. Nice.

Yes, but does it run on Linux?

There's only a link to a win executable there, none for OS X or a major Linux distro sadly.
I guess they can't spread their load too thin....
If they worked on NS for all three it'd be pretty crappy, given how tiny their resources are nowadays.
Just fire up Windows 7 in a VM if you want to try it out on a Linux desktop...

This bloatware is Ovi Suite 3.5, not PC Suite, no matter what the betalabs denomination is.
Pc suite is at ver. 7.1 and a much lighter and friendly software. It always supported the N9, even if it can't handle the maps or the updates.

I am soo puzzled by this naming. Who is the proud author of this confusion?

It is called Nokia Suite. Formerly known as Ovi Suite.
PC Suite is the predecessor of both and not updated anymore afaik.

^^ indeed.. And to boot Ovi Suite doesn't support managing agenda's, which PC Suite did. It can sync with Outlook - and only Outlook. I don't have nor want Outlook.

It's good to see Ovi Suite supports the N9. After all, more options means more power to the user. But even on my 3,4GHz quadcore with SSD I consider it slow bloatware, which (just like PC Suite) insists on installing several always-active services. Yeah you can disable those at start-up, making them run-on-demand, but still

Given the relative openess of the N9 and support for open protocols I have no need for Ovi Suite. Makes me feel sorry for those poor folks with extremely closed systems like Windows Phone or iOS.

I just installed one update for the "former" PC suite two days ago.
7.1.180.64.
Very odd...

edit: Actually it's not odd. It is in line with the Nokia road
