Is there a way to create shortcuts to the Desktop on the 770 to access programs? Maybe through root? Because it's sort of a hassle to have to go to the Extras folder and then launch the program through there.

This is my biggest gripe. I would love to have shortcut icons instead of the big ol' clock and web link shotcut

... it's an extra second or two at the most... c'mon.

Also, the second an app is launched, you won't be able to get at the desktop unless you minimize everything. T'aint a lappy

Yeah, I guess so. But it's a way for me to keep my favorite programs in one little area. I mean, if it is only an extra second or two, how come we have icons for PC's as well if it's the same concept? To me, it doesn't look like it's a desktop, but a background with GUI applications (Like the Internet Radio, News, Clock, etc.) and you can disable them. So maybe someone can create one for such a purpose? Again, it isn't a problem, it would just be a nice addition

Not really true, you can press the "Home" hard key with multiple applications running. Home screen will appear and minimize all apps.

Oh yeah, haha, I forgot about that. Damn, the 770 has so many different functions it's hard to remember all of them....

I have to agree with Hedgecore (to a point). While I agree putting them on the desktop would be pointless, putting them on the home bar (the bar on the side) would be nice. Well... Just the xterm button really.
