Ah, I'm so used to only waking the screen by tapping in the empty spot just to the left of the Bluetooth icon in the status bar, that I've missed seeing this bug. The doesn't-eat-screen-waking-tap bug saved me from the applets-on-ice bug. Wonderful!

Hm, I have yet to upgrade to OS2008.. I'll wait for the next release. But from what I read above the new desktop applet adjustment mechanism sounds awful.. If people have complained about the locked-down applets I really wonder what they were complaining about - it was of course perfectly possible (and very easy) to manipulate the applets also in OS2007 (the only issue I have with it is that in particular the Nokia-provided applets can't be size-reduced any way I want).
So, I agree with texrat, bilofsky and akd. And I also sometimes wake up the tablet exactly as bilofsky described above.

I have my home page stuffed with as many applets as I could squeeze in.. that's why it bothers me so much that the Nokia-applets (google bar, fm radio, internet radio, rss reader, contact list, heck - the status bar itself) can't be squeezed and stretched the way e.g. the excellent 3party simple-launcher can.

......I would rather run applications than applets but I want to be able to switch between them. I'd much rather have a radio application then the applet on the desktop, etc.

The bounces of the keyboard however is a big problem, especially when entering passwords.
