Great news!

No, this was a complete brainfart on my part. Matching a rule to either one is enough.

But I agree it would be user friendly and it is something I want to do in the future.
For the screensaver enable/disable I've been launching/closing BackLighter with the option "Backlight ON at app startup" enabled. An ugly workaround, but it works. I guess that means it's at least possible.

MyMoves has a good application picker, and I think it's open source, so that might be worth looking at.

Damn, the weekend is coming, now I wish I hadn't given you my beer money...

Seriously, you'd deserve the whole weekend paid in a luxury hotel for your work but I'm flat broke this month...

I am willing to try that. Where can I find a stable deb for download, or how can I download from the store *without* installing?

@ajalkane,

I've been using ProfileMatic for a long time now, and it is one of the best and most useful apps I have on my N9, I particularly like the ability to be able to put phone in flight mode over night.

I know you were using some hack/bug in PR1.2 to get the required privalidges for this, and PR1.3 has closed this loophole, so I have now installed with inception to continue using this feature.

However, I have just found the following app in Ovi Store
Code:
http://store.ovi.com/content/294448
Now if I am reading the ovi store page correctly this app appears to be capable of setting flight mode, and I can only assume that it doesn't use any loophole to do it, otherwise it would of failed QA.

Thoughts?

You must be signed in the store for that to work.

No, those use the same loophole. But the situation is a bit more complex for ProfileMatic as it's a daemon versus an application.

But basically now that it's confirmed those kinds of applications work on PR1.3, I should be able to abuse the loophole with an even uglier hack: I have to move the code to a separate executable that sets flight mode on/off, and that executable is called from ProfileMatic. Very ugly, but should work.

I apologize in advance if this is something obvious, but I am not able to download the deb from the ovi store. I am signed-in on linux (so no nokia suite) and there is no download link. I have downloaded the beta from the link posted in the forum, but I would like to begin incepting with the stable version.

If you're signed in with browser that you use, and click the link I posted from the browser, then you will be served the .deb file from Nokia Store . Oh and remember to have set in your Nokia Store profile that your phone is N9.

It should work, I tried it.

This is indeed interesting: this does not work here. When I click on the link, I land at the profilematic page on the store, but no deb :-( I even tried it twice ;-)

In case that matters, I am on debian squeeze and the browser is chromium.

Should not matter. I'm on Ubuntu and chromium. I will try to remember to put that version on my own server for download once I get home.
