I installed the update through the console with the apt-get command and have been loving it. It's great for MSN.. my contacts all came through immediately. I haven't tried adding or removing any contacts as I mainly use Windows Live Messenger on my Vista Laptop. And sadly that's the reason why I'll be switching back to Pidgin.. - I can't sign out of MSN on my N800..
What I want to do is lock my laptop, walk into a meeting room and use my N800 on MSN. Then when finished, sign back in to MSN on my laptop. - I can't do this unless I take the N800 offline or disable the MSN Account. It doesn't respect that I've signed in on another device..

Can't you click on the green circle in the status bar and set it to offline?

yes, all you need to do is to tap on the green dot, select Account Settings, then uncheck the box next to MSN (Haze) to disable the account until the next time you need to use it again.

Correction: MSN doesn't respect that you've signed on with another device.

Somebody has/had added bluez-utils 3.23 into his own repository (apt-cache policy bluez-utils will tell the source usually). Normally it won't install (overwrite 3.22 which is in the 50-2 release) because it's a system package, but after entering the VERY dangerous red pill mode this update is made possible. After installing any non-nokia provided bluetooth packages the subsystem might be totally broken until you reflash. So beware with red pill mode and upgrades from non-nokia certified repositories.

RTCOMM clearly tells you that it can break the app manager.

Yes, but it takes you offline from all protocols. It's fine if that's what you're looking for

On the other hand, if you're looking to just log off from one protocol and stay on another or more, then that's not going to work for you

Yup seems to hammer the battery life, even if it is not connected to the interweb
