Hi

is there a fix for n9 if it was washed i left it to drain for hours outdoor its was turned on when it was in the washer ,I tried the rice thing and left it to dry ,does it takes like 3-4 days to make sure its dead? i searched and found someone like me and it worked for him after a week I cant open it to remove the battery like other phones ,someone told me
if the battery was left in it would cause the copper circuits to corrode and it won't be repairable "
any help would be great
thank you.

Get it in a bag of rice in the airing cupboard as soon as you can, and if you can get the battery out too that's even better. Do not try and turn it on until you've dried it our for at least 3 days

it was turned on could it be dead cause it was turned on? or it doesn't matter and the battery could be used again? as i read that people who was able to turn their phones after the incident vibrate and then shutdown mine doesn't do anything at all!

I'm just speaking from general electronics/mobile phone advice - water won't really harm circuits unless there is a current flowing through them at the time. Rice is a desiccant and so draws the water out of the unit, hence why you don't even touch that power button until you KNOW it is dry! If it was on when it went in then it doesn't sound promising

As for specific N9/Meego advice, I don't really know, I'm new to N9s...I'm actually trying to get advice on flashing my (dead) N9 in another thread right now

When wetting any electronic equipment, remove all power source if possible (battery), put in a can with silica gel (better than rice, and not really expensive).
For 2 to 4 days. Don't try to turn it on before.

For you it's probably too late, but next time you'll know

Three tips to best recover wet electronics.
Submerge in rice or better still silica gel ASAP
Don't use direct heat (hairdrier etc), let it dry naturally.
Don't switch it on for as long as possible, it must be completely dry. (3> days) leave it a week if you want to be sure.

Good luck recovering your device.
