It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I picked up a little PDA holster at Lowe's (building supplies) last night for $3.95 USD on clearance. It's heavy-duty, roomy and provides elastic side pockets for tools or other accessories. It's meant for construction use but could be for general purpose too.

It's called the PDA HOLDER, Field Pro Series, from a company called Texas Hold-ums. They make other varieties; here's a provider:

I saw some of their products on ebay as well.

I picked this Case Logic case up and have been using it since I got the N800 back in March. It's excellent. I loaded it up with my credit cards, money, the spare stylus in the center (which is the only one I use, I never take the one from the N800), and even the fat-Nokia to small-Nokia power cord converted in the slot for a thick pen. I stick it in my pants pocket and, aside being a slight bit bulky, it's perfect!
Here's the case, I highly recommend it: http://www.caselogic.com/strongman_p...?modelid=44299

Having checked out the pictures of the official case I realise that Nokia are not going to come through with what I want.

My interim solution is to reduce the width of the included pouch by 1cm. After trimming off the excess material I now have a soft slip-on case which doesn’t permit the device to slip out inadvertently.

It will serve as a template if I come across a sheet of neoprene or similar, i.e. rubberised on the outside and soft lining inside.

I actually like this pouch model more than the book model, but I have a question: the clip belt is fixed or is it detachable?
(the official case is definitely sexier than both, but it doesn't seem to provide a lot of protection)

Hi,

I just bought my n800 and ordered a case from www.pdair.com. It was beautiful and my n800 sits nicely in it. It was a steal at $28 with free international shipping.cheers

Hi All...

Here's some pics I took of my N800 with the Case Logic Strongman case. Pardon the terrible looks of the crappy ebay screen protector I applied. It's durable and does the job though. Looks much better when powered on with my background image. These show a little more detail of the sides as they fit in the case;

BTW, I'm a first time tablet owner, the N800 being my first mobile device. I think it's awesome.

The NDS800 case from ALS works too. Comes in a lot of different colors about $10 regularly at CC. I cut the plastic holder out. I got it primarily to protect the N800 better while it's inside my knapsack.
