Tried searching for this and didn't find much on the subject for the N9 anyway. Anyone know how to create a shortcut to specific folders for the homescreen? For example, I would like to create a shortcut to home/user/MyDocs/downloads folder on my homescreen rather than to open file manager and go through that process. I know it's probably not the most popular idea, but I would find this useful for some instances. Any info would be appreciated thanks all!

I think it should be doable with the creation of a .desktop file with type link pointing to local host directory or something like that...

On second thought it would need to have a link to a file manager as by default the N9 doesn't come with a built-in GUI file manager...

Maybe something that links the .desktop file pointing to the bookmark of a location in Filebox...

IMO, this is releated to the file manager developer (ie FileBox), Maybe some parameter in cmd line:

.../Filebox [folder-path]

I don't know if this is the same what you are looking for but personally I use bookmarks in filebox, just few clicks and you are there.

I think you guys have the idea If you are familiar with windows, you can right click and create a shortcut to pretty much any file or folder and place on desktop. Obviously, It would have to open file manager to view such directory, but instead of click, click, scroll, click it just opens the wanted directory haha.
