Hi all, just posting here to announce the release (already published in the coding competition) of my little app:
EnyTrip

Application Description:
EnYTrip ( Enrich Your Trip ) is a simple but quite innovative location based application.
With EnyTrip, specifying a starting point and a destination, you can check your way as most route planner do, but also the app will show you interesting place along your way!

So if you have to go somewhere that is a few hours drive from you can now easily find some place to visit to break your long trip and have some fun!

Most of location based app show what is near you, but I prefer chose in advance what’s good is on my way.

EnYTrip show you some photo of the place, give you a nice link to Wikipedia, and also you can open your Map and Drive App to get to that place easily.

Enjoy your next trip!
I designed and implemented the whole app, now it use Google services, a version with Nokia MH5 Framework is in development.

Download Instructions:
You can download the package from here, will be on the store soon:

In the next release (after the voting of the coding competition)
- User will be able to set max search distance from the road he will take
- User will be able to select one or more category of places to search for
- User will be able to search in a determinate trip time laps for interesting or useful place.

The app is slow
My server can't actually handle much concurrent requests, so be patient

I hope you enjoy and I'm waiting for your suggestion!
Michele

First of all, this is a really nice idea...

first to the ui... try to do it in the basic n9 style (white and black theme, items on the bottom)... the items for start, end etc should also be a bit bigger...

can't say more because it loads really to long hope you continue your work and create a working app... nice idea

Just profiled and improved a bit the server response, hope is better now. (here it seems!)

For the layout I'm design a bit cooler and better UI, at the moment the map is too small and there are other things i don't like much.
But I'm really happy you enjoy the Idea.

Nice app idea!

The UI is not too shabby, but as Snooki said, I would also rather a more native looking app.

Also, for some reason, you have to double tap the textboxes for the keyboard to come up, should be just one tap. Also related to the textbox, I cant seem to highlight the text I have already written.

Can't wait to see where this app goes!

Looks like an exciting app, thank you for your effort.
Too bad I didn't have it for my travels few weeks ago

Any plans for a N900 version?
