I can follow that, because the hardware of the N9 should have been at least that of the 920 and N900 combined.

But as Lumia specialist, how would you prevent MS spying on your everything if you were to accept N920 for a phone that just works?

I have read that IM XMPP clients (already builtin N900 feature) etc...cannot benefit from real time networking and that programs requiring socket connection are heavily routed over MS Sockets and difficult to program, is that true?
Any idea if a good video XMPP client has been programmed already?

You should deinstall "Battery Patch".

CSSU in general makes wonders with the N900.
It really gives it fuel to go further.

But, the N9 will always be faster. No matter how much you optimize the SW... it's the HW that makes the difference (snapy/speed wise).

The N9's stronger HardWare really shows.

: )

*I love both devices though

is thumb2 a branch of cssu? i do have the latest cssu installed.

thumb2 seems another branch of troubleshooting. i'd rather not install it in the middle of my senior year

i don't have battery patch installed

i bother with mms because my friends do. sadly i cant boss them to just email it to me.

partly wanting a new toy. partly because i can reply faster on google voice that i can on my n900 and i don't like carrying an extra battery.

i'll probably get a 16gb because i want to switch to streaming music. i don't listen to my library much except for the latest 10 albums i've acquired

i do like playing embedded flash videos but at the cost of browsing speed no thanks.

ive been reading mixed reports on google calendar sync. guess i won't know till i try.

can use the 920 because its not 3.5g pentaband its only LTE pentaband

then the n9 16gb would be better with its low cost and covering the main functions that you are looking for...

did you keep all your conversation history since day 1?
don't know about MMS (don't use it) but simply 2+ yrs of convo means some SMS/IM windows take a couple seconds to open.
phone calls are fine, but i have reflashed (even my primary N900) at least twice a year
and i don't use any games / themes

basically, even though i love to have a... Linux computer in my pocket it is 1st and foremost my (mobile) phone.
whenever i install something, this has to keep working. if it doesn't after installing something, something is gone
if something can't be uninstalled properly (CSSU comes to mind ), re-flash...

i have CSSU-thumb on my 2nd N900 (30 to 40 MB more RAM available compared to prime) but CSSU is such as mess...
and i don't do (many) phone calls from nbr.2...

Sorry for OT, but, would you elaborate on the mess?

Check that you have updated libcurl3, see here.

simply doesn't work on my prime
period
i'm not saying it is only CSSU; it might well be CSSU interacting with another apps i have installed along the way in the last 2 yrs
have somewhere between 150 and 200
not even the same on prime and 2nd

but i rather suspect that it is b/c i don't make (many) calls w/ 2nd.
a few days i had CSSU stable on prime i had to take the battery out up to three times / day

re-flash, same apps w/ pk (was v49 or so back then) and runs days or even weeks at end.
same apps otherwise

thus, mess

what are you trying to prove with
  • CSSU stable
  • CSSU... testing (?)
  • CSSU thumb
?

that you can do everything, alas nothing right?

focus.
