About "lack of communication" :
They use utube, planetqt, qt-project.org, twitter, facebook, IRC, G+ and is mainly as you said "developers". Many of them is working freetime with development because thats mainly what they like to do. Marketing is something that others can help with by following those "channels".
Compare it to coming here for idle chat and chat from developers and announcements for all things Maemo. If I wanted to, I know the location for all things MeeGo.
Not the case for Jolla. We shouldn't have to seek out that much for the whole picture. The moment we want intricate/intimate details, then all of the above you've listed is what's necessary to drill down into that and make sure we're well informed in dev and announcements around bits we specify as intriguing.
I am sure we can help them with marketing by spread the world about what happens in the MER, Meego, QT world.
We're not.
So Again its upto us helping getting the communications forwarded to people who not sitting on IRC etc... Remember the community includes everyone on this forum except the trollsSo its up to us.
Personally I dont see any communication problems so far from the mer team. Just following the above channels and you get the info and can help by post cool intresting stuff here or elsewhere when it comes up.

Do you think jolla will pull a web stream release or will they keep the limited information and announce it on twitter?
If I were them. I would have done a small but special campaign to trigger extra interested. with a 30 days countdown.
One short movie every day, where they asking avrage joe on the street a specific interesting question so that the world slowly get a picture of the phone. but without seeing the phone. (except for the customer or if the want to use actors)
day 1.

Remember this is small [and insignificant in size] Company not some large MNC that can hype things up...
The more they hype the higher the chances of people being disappointed! Remember always under-promise and over-deliver!
Do Apple, constantly come out with such before launching the new iPhone or iPad? They don't as they want to present one "magical" package on announcement day for everyone to get wowed...

jolla on the other hand would get lots of press for free if the slowly announced small things without announcing the real deal or actual featuers. Bloggers and maybe even newspaper would pick up some of the information and more people would now about jolla.
They dont need the hype. the need to get out the word of their existence.

I think the way Jolla are going about things is pretty well the best way for them.
Nothing wrong with us here speculating about Jolla and what device they may release but I think sometimes it gets a little too far-fetched and crazy.
And no matter what we want or wish it matters little until they actually produce and bring to market their first device.

You can't promote / advertise a product until there is a product ready to come to market and therefore be promoted / advertised.

OK. But do you not think credit should be given to Jolla for doing things how they feel is best. It's not up to you / us to plan / decide how they should be going forward.
