I don't seem to find any info about this problem, and I hope it's not just me

I have upgraded my N800 to OS2008 official. Everything works (I think), except the browser. Whenever I try to start it, I get a little "Web - Loading" message for a few seconds, then nothing

My WiFI connection works as expected: I can upgrade packages, for example. MicroB just refuses to start. Any ways to update/reinstall the browser without having to reinstall OS2008?

Thanks for any help

WEll, I have no great answer but I do find that my browser takes forever to get opened and bring up that first page or bookmark. I just re-installed everything and dumped that 'ad blocker plug-in' and the browser boot up is still over 10-15 seconds.

If your getting a 'no start' at all, you may have to start fresh with a new install of the OS.

I have found no good answer to some of those anomalous bugs and that seems to be my only choice when it fails like that. It happened to me once with a new install of Skype.

You are right. I reinstalled OS2008, and MicroB now works. I wonder what else could be broken this time...

I guess I could go on a rant here, but let's just say that if Nokia hopes to make this unit mainstream, it has *a lot* of work to do...

A more simple solution is to delete the Microb user settings. You will lose your saved passwords and cookies but not your bookmarks. In this case you rename them:

- close all browser windows
- start 'X terminal'
- in the X terminal window type:
Code:
mv .mozilla .mozilla_backup
mv .browser .browser_backup
- start browser

if that works you could delete the backups:

Code:
rm -Rf .mozilla_backup
rm .browser_backup

This time, gTalk wasn't working, so I reloaded OS2008. gTalk almost worked (it started at least), but no voice on either side. One more OS2008 update, and now the tablet doesn't start, staying in Nokia logo mode forever. When trying to update again, the tablet power cycles as soon as the download start, which makes flashergui.exe barf.
How can Nokia push this kind of POS on the market?
