Hi,

I'd like to delete one package from the dpkg list of selected packages (the list obtained from the command "dpkg --get-selections"). The package is already unistalled and that list shows it as "<packagename> deinstall" (together with many other packages). How can I remove that package from the installation/deinstallation history of dpkg/dselect commands?

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried to use the dpkg --purge option instead of dpkg --remove ?
Be careful of deleting other packages in addition!

Thanks, that seems to work!!! The package is now removed from the dpkg list. I did not know that removing a package using the HAM is not enough, you also need to purge its config files.
