I'm currently in a place where a wifi network is available with a WPA2 key, I can connect this wifi.

But, to access internet, this connection goes through a proxy which authenticates the users.

The problem is even I can enter the proxy address in my N9, I don't know where I have to enter the authentication credentials. I don't see any specific field for that.

And, of course, I can't access the internet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My university WiFi had a proxy and required authentication with a username and password.

I added the proxy address manually in the settings (don't enter proxy credentials in the network settings.. this doesn't seem to work for me) After adding the address, just type any URL in the web browser and press go. Another page pops up (in the web browser) asking for the credentials. So you can enter it there and these credentials will be saved even if you disconnect from the WiFi and reconnect again later on. You only have to reenter them after you reboot your phone.

So, if that page asking for username and password doesn't pop up after you connect to the network, reboot your phone and try connecting again. This works for me.

That's what I thought. But unfortunately, the authentication popup never raises, even after a N9 reboot.

And I'm pretty sure to have already successfully experienced this procedure in a recent past. Now, I'm unable to say what has changed (the N9 or this particular infrastructure), but I can't get a data connection this way.
