These devices have been shipped out with no warranty, so unfortunately I have no advice to you as for the repairment.
We do not have any replacement devices to send to you nor are we ordering any new 950s

I need to contact uk-repair.com

Is it a good repair station for the N950 device?

Best Regards,

Trevormacro

Why?

Here is the email of Uk repair for my N950:

Dear
Based on this information, the quotation for the repair is:
94.95 GBP
Repairs take from 3 to 4 working days.
Fast Track option has not been requested.
Return postage is: 7.95 GBP
Special notes:lcd replacement
Once we have inspected the unit, we may need to revise the quotation.
We will contact you with the new quote before we continue with the
repair.

You speak about uk repair or Nokia DDP ?

Danger! is that email actually from nokia or one of many clueless nokia licensed chop shops?

If it is the latter, I would be extremely careful about releasing your n950 to them. Did they even check if they can get a replacement LCD for the n950 or did some bro just see nokia, LCD replacement=>quote standard fee?

If they cannot get a new screen, those clowns may just fsck your n950 even more! Get them to CONFIRM they can get an LCD unit specifically for your n950.

I won't let those thugs even touch my n900. Thankfully I have an arrangement with my local to supply me with just the parts. They still charge labour, however it is worth it to get genuine parts and to not have those spackers destroy my precious.

That email from DDP looks pretty conclusive - it's the end of the line for the N950.

Anyone who has one should consider a fireproof safe filled with bubblewrap.

Surely no repair shop would have (or be able to get) LCD units because the N950 only ever went out to devs who could get it replaced for free.

How probable is that a N9 screen would work on a N950? Is there a possibility that they use the same connector?

The screen size is different, but I'd compare the ribbons just to see.
Note that even if the screen worked you'd end up with a pretty ugly slider.

The black lines will probably disappear completely after some time (can be quite long though).

0_o what a deal. While I understand and agree, it still sound a little... Unfair? Wasn't it cheaper to buy genuine parts from somewhere else/take it from broken N900's out of ebay? (digitizer is usually ultra-scratched, but LCD beneath it, in perfect condition).
