Anything I can do to improve battery life. I have read through the manual and have done everything in it to extend life. Any thoughts....would love for it to last a bit longer in standby mode.

How long does a full charge last you? If it's just in standy/idle mode it should go for days.

Three things that I do to save battery life:

WLAN Transmission Power:
Change the wifi power to 10mW instead of 100mW. Located under Control Panel->Connectivity->Connections->Edit any of yours->Advanced->Other->WLAN transmission power. I thought I would hate the results but actually seem to get different set of WLAN hubs that show up and things seem to work pretty much the same.

Turn to "Offline Mode" when I can:
I purposely turn off the wireless Lan whenever I can because there are so many things that can automatically connect to the internet and drain your power. For example, the news reader can connect every one hour and update your news. So, click the power button and select "Offline Mode"

Close any applications that you suspect of utilizing the CPU:
Some programs or web pages use the CPU. So, if you have a web page open with flash or animated gifs, shut the thing down when you aren't using your NIT.

My charge lasts about 36 hours with on and off wifi -- continuous use of wifi about 4hrs (without rebooting). I have noticed that if you do reboot, the available battery life does drop some..maybe about 10 percent or so. Thats just me guessing. I have never left it on in standby. I would like to do that just to get a feel for how long this device could just idle.

I was looking for a powered USB hub to get more out of the USB OTG, and I found a link here to a USB charger for the nokia n series. If you are getting a powered hub anyway, you might as well get the voltage converter as well, and then be able to run your tablet off of the 4 AAA batteries in the hub for extra time. That would be great if you need it on a plane or something.

Thanks for the help. I just downloaded the load applet and the only thing I see draining power is the Hildon-desktop. I assume this is only because of the process I have up and running for the load applet. Otherwise nothing else except Xomap is drawing load and xomap is only drawing 0-1%. I did uninstall Xgalga today because I wasn't sure if it was actually closing. Should have waited until after I installed the Load applet. Thanks again for the help.
