How can a (once-)bright community fill a bu****** thread like this with 5 pages of even more **ll****?

Y'know, sticking around was hard enough already, especially after the whole WhatsApp happening (-> people DEMANDING Wazapp to be released before it was ready and filling ****sh** threads with ******it posts, contributing absolutely NOTHING to the website), but you guys are really ruining TMO for me with this kind of childish behaviour.

Yes, I'm ranting and shitposting, but it's "merely" the cry of someone who is witnessing the death of his favourite community and tech-website :/
Can't you guys just continue your own shitposting on the comments section of whichever engadget.com article?

To deliberately read a post that irritates you and then flame on (or out) is impossibly childish. Grow up.

Emotional balance aside, I think that this community is a great potential resource for Jolla, and I am sure that they recognize the same, which is likely why they pointed out how easy it will be to bring Sailfish to the N9. Unless radical improvement is made, I imagine Sailfish will fail. Right now, it does not appear nearly as good as Harmattan or BB10 or Android or iOS or . . . you name it.

This community represents a natural partner to help speed the developmental schedule for Jolla to produce a best-possible product. We have compatible hardware (most of us), we are aligned with their goals, and we want to help. They'd be crazy to ignore us, so I'm sure that they will channel (or back-channel) Sailfish to us to test/develop/enjoy.

Time will tell.

I just wanted to know whether we (the N9 users) might recieve that new OS as an update , and the answer the gave me was a NO!!!. Could u believe that? .So am wondering whether that is truely the real deal ,or we might maybe see it on the N9 someday. What do you think guys????
it is obviously Jolla won't support N9!!
Sailfish is different to MeeGo; it is a new version of MeeGo;
and Nokia is Meego owner not Jolla. So jolla cant do nothing with other property!!!
i wont any update of MeeGo began Sailfish

Surely, they won't support it. It doesn't mean that community can't make a port, since it's technically possible.

Start with the study of the English language and then proceed to study a relevant programming language.

If you mean these, then you have not understood them very well...

Anyone with a #Nokia #N9 can try Sailfish OS thanks to the community. But, @JollaMobile won't officially support it.

You have the Nokia N9 and you are hacker?! Good news!

Sailfish OS can be flashed on your Nokia N9 / N950 as soon as the image is available.

Jolla has nothing to do with Nokia, who will flash their N9 / N950 Nokia will lose the warranty, something quite normal. No support from La Jolla will be made for the N9 / N950, so you can try the OS your own risk!

However, the user experience on the N9 will not be identical to the smartphone Jolla, which will come out next year.

Pending more information on how to flash, compatibilities, differences in OS between devices, etc ... it is already a very good news. The Nokia N9 will be entitled to a second life and will delight hackers.

EDIT: Some details from the field. Jolla normally release their code additions, such as graphics libraries used to their interface, but will not image. Hackers will build themselves.

Jolla by not provide any support for the cons N9. And especially not for their services.

There will be no release for the n9. They did mention their community releases but have not said anything about what devices.

Just to fully answer the thread

Jolla announced:

For all of those asking as to when the Sailfish image used in the N9/950 demos will be available??? That will happen in coming weeks, so hang tight people.
Me being so kind here is a new 10 minute UI demo, hope you enjoy

Whoo boy. If the N9 image works like it does on the N950, I have found my new daily driver.

Also, I hope that on the N9, we'll still get a low-power clock.
(Given that they've shown most demos on the N950, I can only hope.)
